When time stands still

“I want to snuggle, Mommy.”

Solid warmth.  Feet that stretch to my knees.  Smell of summer fun, sweat, shampoo. Little hands holding mine.  Arms squeezing me.  Remembering years swiftly fleeting.  Hair tickling my nose and a little giggle.  Trying to force every detail in my mind as they are growing so fast.  Bear hug.  Smooshing noses together.

“I love you, Mommy.”
