I am deferring the next chapter of Embracing Obscurity for later on in the week. The chapter is on suffering and I read it before the tragedy on Friday. It’s a lengthy chapter, filled with many heart probing truths. Before I commit to writing anything, I want to be sure I’m being sensitive to the pain of others, allowing for grief and being comforted. This chapter may be the focus of several posts in the near future, as we all deal with suffering and tragedy in this fallen world, be it a job loss, death of a spouse, or the murder of children.
In the meantime, hold fast to the truth:
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
(Hebrews 4:15-16 ESV)
