Hope

twig-tree-in-springAs we come to the last chapter of Embracing Obscurity, we are focused as to what our hope is.  The entire book has its roots in the truth and daily heart application of the gospel to our lives, calling us to deny ourselves gladly and making much of Christ in any arena we find ourselves in.  But how?  Do we try harder?  No.  Our hope alone for any heart transformation is the very same gospel truths that led us to salvation.  Repent of sin and believe in the One “who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy”(Jude 1:24).

If my highest aim is to glorify God by enjoying Him forever, then my ultimate hope is the place and state of being when I will be able to do that to my full potential— forever.

Whether we find our selves quietly, obscurely teaching God’s truth to the next generations in our home or find we have center stage in a prominent role for a time, wherever we are, our delight is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever!  This is our eternal hope!  The hope that makes grocery shopping and meal cooking more than mundane if we choose to do even that for His glory.
I have been humbled and pierced by many of the thoughts in this book.  Thanks for joining me in the journey of it.
